Our Services

At the Aurora Black Community Association (ABC), we offer a variety of programs designed to promote inclusivity, bridge cultural gaps, and foster learning through equitable experiences. Through workshops, educational resources, events, and community initiatives, we work to reduce anti-Black racism and build stronger, united communities. Our services aim to empower individuals, support social and economic growth, and create spaces for meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange.

Black History Education and EID Foundation Work:

We collaborate with schools, municipal organizations, and businesses to promote equity, inclusion, and diversity. We also provide consultation.

Movie Series

We host discussions around racism, equity, and societal misconceptions through selected films. This is in partnership with the Aurora Film Circuit.

PowerForward Grants

The I Believe Grant invests $1,000 in young adults, women, and entrepreneurs, pairing them with mentorship, coaching, and resources to unlock potential and empower their journey to success.

Annual Black History Celebration

A yearly event celebrating Black culture and achievements.

I Can Swim Program

This program supports Black families in learning essential swimming skills.

Breaking Bread and Bridging Culture

A cooking and community-building initiative aimed at fostering cultural exchange.

What began as a grassroots movement led by the Aurora Black Community Association resulted in the Town of Aurora officially declaring February as Black History Month in September 2020—a lasting step toward recognition, inclusion, and truth.
