About the Event

Our interactive and creative Black History Month Paint & Write Night is intended for people 16+ and is presented in collaboration with the Town of Aurora and Nelia Pacheco from the Aurora Film Circuit.

During this community social, participants will be joined by an amazing artist Judy Sherman, and a poet Greg Frankson to assist with their creative expressions through a written poem, spoken word, or a painting to demonstrate personal interpretations of Black Excellence / Black History.

Our poem facilitator, Greg Frankson, is the founder and CEO of Voice Share. He has published four poetry collections. Prior to creating Voice Share in 2018, Greg was a teacher, arts educator, event producer, corporate trainer, and anti-discrimination facilitator. We are so excited to work with him and Judy!

Participants is limited to 40 individuals who will each receive creative kits at no charge to our participants - removing possible barriers to participation.

The event will be available as an in-person at the Armoury or virtual experience for everyone's comfort and to promote accessibility.

RSVP cut off date is February 16th at 5:00pm - this cut off allows ample time for our team to deliver the kits to our participants.
